TVAC
Resonate Testing’s introduction of Tvac- and why it had to happen
Launch Ready Space Environment Testing - All Under One Roof
Resonate Testing delivers a complete suite of environmental tests for space hardware in one location; Thermal Vacuum (TVac), Vibration, and Shock, giving UK, Irish, and EU New Space companies a faster, safer, and simpler route to launch readiness.
Our integrated approach removes the delays, handling risks, and logistical complexity of multi site test campaigns. Instead, you get one coordinated programme, one expert team, and one world class facility ready to support your mission.
A Story Built With Our Customers
Resonate Testing has broadened its space environment testing capability with the addition of a Thermal Vacuum (TVac) system. This investment was made in direct response to customer demand for a complete qualification pathway carried out within a single facility. The TVac system strengthens Resonate Testing’s ability to support organisations across the UK, Ireland and the EU that require efficient, reliable and high quality environmental testing.

Feedthroughs and Optional Systems
- Standard feedthroughs include SMA, USB, DSUB25 and DSUB50 connectors, suitable for instrumentation and subsystem electrical interfaces.
- Optional equipment includes a residual gas analyser, a coldhead plate and a thermoelectric quartz crystal microbalance for contamination and outgassing characterisation.
- Control is provided through a PLC compliant with CE or UL and EN ISO 13849 1 safety requirements.
Advantages of Integrated Testing
By completing vibration, shock and thermal vacuum testing within the same facility, customers benefit from:
- Shorter programme schedules because there is no need to coordinate several facilities.
- Reduced risk because there is no inter site transport of valuable flight or engineering models.
- Consistent oversight from a single engineering team that understands the hardware across all test stages.
- More predictable planning and reduced administrative burden.
State of the Art Thermal Vacuum Testing
The new Thermal Vacuum (TVac) chamber enables accurate simulation of orbital conditions, providing a high‑grade vacuum environment with precise and repeatable temperature cycling.
Technical Capabilities
- High‑vacuum operation for LEO, MEO, and deep‑space conditions
- Low leakage rates for stable long-duration cycles
- Controlled environment with contamination‑safe handling
- Rapid thermal transitions between extreme temperatures
- Chamber capacity suitable for subsystems, avionics, and CubeSats
- Instrumentation including thermocouples, pressure sensors, data logging
High Force Vibration & Shock Testing
Expanded Technical Capability
- 70 kN Vibration Shaker supporting up to 1,200 kg and 2 m payloads
- Shock & Pyroshock simulation for separation events
- Custom Fixtures & Instrumentation — multi‑point acceleration, modal analysis
