Battery Testing | Environmental, Vibration, Shock & Reliability Standards

Battery and Energy Testing Standards

Engineer-led testing and validation for energy infrastructure, equipment, and critical systems. We support qualification, acceptance, reliability, and operational readiness programs, including environmental, vibration, thermal, and performance testing to help meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safe, reliable operation across power, transmission, distribution, and renewable energy projects.

Fast. Flexible. Accessible

At Resonate Testing, we support battery qualification programmes through a range of environmental, mechanical, ingress protection, vibration, shock, thermal, and transportation testing services aligned with recognised international standards.

Common Battery Testing Standards

UN 38.3 specifies transportation testing requirements for lithium batteries and cells. Before lithium batteries can be shipped by air, sea, rail, or road, they typically must demonstrate compliance with the transport tests defined within the standard.

IEC 62133 is an internationally recognised safety standard covering portable rechargeable batteries containing alkaline or non-acid electrolytes. The standard assesses cell and battery safety under both normal operating conditions and reasonably foreseeable misuse.

IEC 62619 specifies safety requirements for secondary lithium batteries used in industrial applications. The standard is designed for larger battery systems where operating conditions and risk profiles differ from consumer products.

UL 2596 provides safety requirements for battery energy storage systems and associated equipment.
